Go to sleep and leave the wart exposed overnight; next morning, cover it with duct tape again. Repeat this for about 2 months and the wart should disappear. This is a very easy method that can deal with even the oldest warts (use rubber duct tape and not the transparent one for best results).

As you can see, you don’t need a scalpel or a surgeon to get rid of those pesky warts. So test the waters and let her get used to being physically close to you before attempting that kiss. Some ways in which you can do this are:

Giving her friendly hugs. Show her that you can touch her in a non-sexual way and not expect anything else. Don’t make a big deal about it. When she presses into you and seems increasingly reluctant to break away, you know that she wants more. Millions of PC users across the country are going to be in for a rude awakening come March 11, 2007. That’s when the new Daylight Saving Time goes into effect in 48 States.

So what does that mean to you? Well, if you use any Windows Operating System from Windows 95 through XP (Pro or Home) Service Pack 1, you could be facing a big problem. And it doesn’t matter if your PC is used in your home, or in your office.

If your PC is trusted to do any type of program operation based on time, you may run into an unforeseen problem when March rolls around.

Those folks running the previously mention Operating Systems wrongly assume that their PC’s will automatically switch to DST. They are right. BUT, not until April. By then, you could have a real problem on your hands.

Here’s a portion of an email that a major corporation sent out to all of it’s offices nation wide. “The list of impacted systems could include anything from the Heating/AC system to Access Door Controls to Trading Systems and Blackberries.”

The company also noted: “All associates using the Outlook Calendar will be impacted by this change. In order for Outlook to see the new DST rules, an updated tool must be run on every user’s PC.”

While Microsoft will provide a free “fix” for users of XP with Service Pack 2 or 3, other users could be left dangling in the wind. Or, they can contact Microsoft for a fix, at a fee.

The bottom line is, you need to update your PC’s clock/calendar system as soon as possible to avoid any type of log jam or delay in your projects. The sooner you take steps to correct this on your PC, the quicker you’ll be able to breath easy.

Hard Rockers Kiss Reinvented the World of Glam Rock

The American band Kiss was formed in New York around 1973. Kiss, which was easily identified with excessive face makeup and paint, stage outfits and elaborate performances in concerts, has sold over 19 million records in the U.S. alone and a whopping 80 million records worldwide. The band was awarded with 22 gold records since its formation, despite a history of different band members.

Kiss is well-known for their live performances, having gimmicks like fire-breathing, smoking guitars; blood-spitting; pyrotechnics; and other extraordinary tricks. Because of their entertaining performances and great glam music, Kiss quickly developed a fan base worldwide.

Of all American rock and roll artists, Kiss has proved their appealing image for all ages and has successfully promoted itself to a point that exceeds even Elvis Presley's promotion.

The People Behind the Music of Kiss

The original members of Kiss were Gene Simmons, a schoolteacher and bass player, and Paul Stanley, a singer and guitarist, who were both members of a band called Wicked Lester.

When Simmons and Stanley decided to leave Wicked Lester, they brought with them their bad boy image and formed the band Kiss, which later became dubbed as one of the greatest rock and roll bands in the world of popular music.

Kiss became a complete band after recruiting Paul "Ace" Frehley (vocals and lead guitar) and Peter Criss (vocals and drums) through a newspaper advertisement that Stanley and Simmons set out.

The band Kiss produced a series of successful albums throughout the 1970s. With their donning elaborate face make-up and black leather outfits, Kiss instantly became a hit and even adopted their own personas and stage names: Stanley "The Star Child," Simmons "The Demon," Criss "The Cat" and Frehley "The Space Man."

Unfortunately, because of creative differences and substance abuse, Frehley and Criss were both out of the band by 1982. As a result, the band's commercial fortune and fan base decreased during this time.

Without the make-up, Kiss made a major comeback in 1983 and enjoyed a successful resurgence all through the early 1990s. Kiss' original lineup reunited in 1996 and performed in 210 cities for the "Kiss Alive Worldwide Tour." After the tour, Criss was replaced by Eric Singer and Frehley by Tommy Thayer.

The Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum Albums of Kiss

When the original members of Kiss first performed with their raw music in local bars, they eventually impressed a manager named Bill Aucoin and signed a deal with Casablanca Records in 1973.

In 1974 Kiss' self-titled debut album came out, which was filled with crushing, raw music. However, the band's commercial stardom began with their 1975 album "Dressed to Kill," which gave Kiss their signature tune from timeless songs like "Rock and Roll All Nite."

Around 1976 Kiss released "Love Gun" and "Rock and Roll Over," which both went platinum. "Creatures of the Night," their final album with Casablanca Records, was a major success in 1982. In the next year, Kiss dropped their infamous make-up, signed with Mercury Records and reinvented their sound to produce another platinum album called "Lick It Up."

In 1992 the band released the "Revenge" album, which automatically went gold. Then an official Kiss reunion of "The Star Child," "The Demon," "The Cat" and "The Space Man" was filmed by MTV's Unplugged, which was internationally released both on record and on video.

Kiss continued playing their music until 2001. However, through their evolving music, elaborate live acts, outlandish costumes and millions of fans and worldwide, Kiss remains one of the greatest rock and roll bands in the world.

Why do some people ruin a perfectly good business networking opportunity by exhibiting “foot-in-mouth syndrome”? They risk alienation of the very people they paid good money to meet by behaving in a manner that makes them seem unprofessional.

There are many good, informative articles about the basics of networking, how to prepare, what to say and whom to look for. This article will look beyond the “how to” aspects and focus on “what NOT to do” when participating in business networking functions.

5 Business Networking Rules -- What NOT to do:

1. Monopolize one person with your very specific questions, problems or opinions.

2. Expect free professional advice.

3. Correct, admonish, belittle, or otherwise denigrate another person either in-person or in absentia.

4. Badger anyone into scheduling a meeting.

5. Donate a “door prize” for the purpose of getting a captive audience for a sales presentation.

Now that you know what not to do, what are the corrections, what is it that you want to do instead? Here are a few solutions:

1. Monopolize one person
If you have been trying to contact a specific person and you see them at the event, this could be the perfect opportunity to introduce yourself, ask them a few questions, talk about how you may be able to help each other and finally ask if it would be OK if you called them next Monday to follow-up. This is definitely not the time to give a sales presentation or try to close the deal.

Situation: Tom and Jane were in a loose group of five people discussing various business opportunities. Jane (an executive search consultant) mentioned that she was looking to place a particular type of person in a job. Tom immediately responded that the manner in which she spoke was not within the legal parameters of employment law. The other three people in the group were instantly aware of the conflict Tom introduced, and when he proceeded to argue points about the law, they excused themselves from the conversation. This “foot-in-mouth” syndrome was proved when upon further discussion he acknowledged that the situation was not what he had assumed and she was indeed acting well within the legal parameters of the law.

4. Badger anyone into scheduling a meeting

Occasionally attendees may set a goal for themselves of scheduling “x” appointments with people they meet at the networking event. While having goals relating to networking is great, perhaps a better goal would be to identify “x” prospects for follow-up phone calls or emails. Your prospect will appreciate the fact that you value their time.

5. Donate a door prize
Door prizes are a fun way to end the evening. A free dinner, bottle of wine, book or gift certificate is always a hit with the recipient and they will remember your generosity. But companies who “donate” a consultation for the purpose of giving a sales presentation quickly gain a reputation for manipulation which is a sure kiss of death in the networking community. So, please, do give door prizes and make sure that there are no strings attached!

Did the thought of a potential health risk come to mind, not knowing the type of lifestyle your kissing partner led?

Dramatically Increase Sales With The KISS Test

We've all heard the term KISS at one time or another - "Keep It Simple, Stupid." However, the majority of salespeople violate this basic principle more often than not.

Let me start with some examples of what I'm talking about. At one position I held, I sat next to someone who could have been a top salesperson. He and I both operated much the same in that rather than cold call, we ran our own personal marketing programs to generate leads and simply took the calls that came in as a result. The problem is what he did with the calls. When someone called me, ready to buy, I immediately went into closing the deal and making arrangements to either come out with the paperwork or to fax it over. He, on the other hand, went into a full-length company story and a lot of other information that he absolutely should not tell a qualified prospect unless they ask for it. The end result is that people who called ready to sign up for one of our services lost interest and didn't buy anything at all.

Another example is what happens every time I try to make a business purchase. Here I am, saying "Yes, I'm going to buy," and the sales rep lauches into a company story about how long they've been in business, who their big clients are, and on and on. Lucky for these salespeople, the product usually sells itself and I still buy. However, I'm willing to bet that a lot of people don't. Nothing is more frustrating than picking up the phone saying, "Hi, here I am ready to buy," and having some rep go into a story bragging about how great the company is and all that they can do. That comes off as pure arrogance to a business owner. What's more, talking about your big enterprise clients alienates most small business owners. They assume their needs will be placed second to those of the big dogs and that they'll be treated as just a number when calling for service.

I think most training is at the root of this massive problem. Every course I've taken has gone through the steps of a sale. The problem is, what if all the steps don't take place? Consider "objection handling." When I was working for that company I mentioned earlier, many of my prospects had no objections because my marketing pieces took care of them in advance. By assuming that each of these steps are going to take place, a lot of salespeople will cause something to happen when it really shouldn't have to begin with. If a prospect doesn't come up with any major objections, don't give them a reason to!

I've seen a lot of managers require their reps to fill out a "lead sheet" that documents each step of the sale. This assumes that each of the steps will happen when they may not. If you're required to maintain these types of records, skip anything that doesn't happen naturally. Don't induce a prospect to enter a selling phase that may not only be unnecessary, but may cause you to lose the sale entirely.

Use the KISS test when you're selling. Always ask yourself if what you're doing is actually necessary. Believe me, you'll save yourself a lot of wasted time and lost sales by doing so. I did.

The First Kiss - How to Get There Smoothly

Sometimes it can be a problem knowing just when and how to go for that first opening kiss.

A lot of guys get the timing wrong and ruin the moment. Or they make their move just as she turns her head, and finish up planting a pair of lips on her ear.

Not to worry. Here's a strategy that NEVER fails. The key is to subtly let her know that you're thinking about kissing her. This gives HER the opportunity of thinking about being kissed. And once she starts thinking about being kissed, you're pretty much there.

How do you do this? Simple. Let your eyes momentarily look at her lips -- and be sure she sees you doing this.

Start by making a simple movement which allows you to touch her and gets your head within striking distance. You might, for example, lightly reach out and run your fingers through her hair. At the same time you could say something about how soft and silky her hair is (in your sexiest voice).

Watch her reaction. If she doesn't move away, you're ready for the next step. Gaze romantically (or lustfully if you prefer) into her eyes while you keep talking. Then look down from her eyes to her mouth and back again a couple of times -- and be sure she knows what you're looking at.

Your glances will let her know what's going through your mind, so your move won't be unexpected. And it gives her a chance to take up the offer or not.

If she doesn't move away, move your head in and gently kiss her. Make the first one soft. Don't rush at it as though you're trying to give mouth-to-mouth to a drowned person (unless the lustful look is paying off).

If she does move away, neither of you has lost face. But don't take it as a rejection. She may simply want you to do a little more work.

Learning to Kiss the Rock or Buy A New Kayak

Paddling a river is an immense joy because you get an intimate feel of the power of nature below you in the flowing water. Ah, but what if mother nature throws you a curve?

Kayaking is a multi-tiered sport. There are those that prefer rapids and only rapids. Others like to get out and cruise a river to take in the serenity of nature. If you prefer rapids, rocks are your friends. If you prefer to cruise, rocks can be a problem. This is particularly true if they barely break the water or are just below the surface.

Rivers often look serene and calm when you are paddling down them. Don’t be fooled. A river is, in my opinion, a living thing. Like us, it has pimples and such that can be hazardous to you if you are not paying attention. When cruising a river, this often happens when you come upon a boulder just below the surface you failed to notice.

When this happens, you have to make a quick decision. The first is to try to steer around the beast and save the day. Ah, but what if there isn’t time? Are you fated to crack your rig on the rock and potentially bust it up? No, but you have to fight your natural instinct.

Assume you are serenely cruising a river. You suddenly realize there is a boulder five feet in front of your. It has lots of edges. You can see paint from previous kayaks on the edges. The boulder appears to be smiling! What do you do? The answer is to angle away from the boulder, but only so much as to change your direction. You want to aim for the outside corner of the boulder and try to maintain your speed. Now comes the tricky part.

As you approach the boulder, you must lean into it. With your upper body. And your face. By leaning into the rock, you will push your rig down into the current flowing around its edge. The current will grab the rig and pitch you around the rock. Feel free to reach out and push off the boulder if you can, but make sure to maintain your balance. If you don’t, you may need some new teeth.

Learning to kiss the rock may sound simple, but it is difficult. Faced with a sudden, dangerous situation, your survival instinct will always tell you to run. In this situation, that means leaning away from the boulder. Doing so is a disaster. At a minimum, you are going to run your keep up and over the boulder. There will be damage, potentially enough that you will need a new kayak. Fight your instincts or pay dearly!

The latest research suggests that business people are struggling to communicate or express themselves properly. This breakdown isn’t due to office politics, or a lack of group hugs, but rather their inability to clearly put into words what it is they want to say. To overcome this they need to learn how to KISS better. They need to know how to ‘Keep it Short and Simple.’

A research study by ‘Emphasis’, a business writing consultancy, has suggested that many employees now struggle to write in a manner which people can understand. The ‘inability or reluctance to use plain English’, and enthusiasm for the thesaurus, is creating masses of incomprehensible business documents.

Emphasis CEO, Robert Ashton, commented:

“A major issue is the popular misconception that long words and elaborate phrases are a sign of superior intellect or professionalism, but people are inundated with documents to read…people don't want to have to translate complicated words and phrases; they just want to get to the point.”

Trying to sound clever and using corporate claptrap and marketing mush achieves little more than confuse your reader, or give the impression that you have something to hide. People have had enough of ambiguous language and sales spiel.

Adopting the KISS methodology should not just be about swapping long words for shorter ones, but also about applying transparency and honesty to the way that you communicate. This means throwing ‘hit the ground running’, ‘solutions’ and ‘excellence’ in the cliché sin bin.

The problem in the UK is that the literacy problem is more serious than merely shelving your marketing phrase book. Many believe we are actually heading into a writing skills crisis.

A CBI report on workplace skill levels found that:

"In virtually every organisation contacted, senior managers reported that many employees find it difficult or impossible to produce written work.”

Businesses are now being forced to run remedial classes and rely on templates for correspondence, not trusting their staff to be able to write an adequate letter on their own.

Even our future dynamos from the universities are being criticized in another new report. ‘Writing Matters’ by a team of professional writers has attacked students for not being able to write decent English, ‘follow a logical train of thought or present a reasoned argument.’ It would appear that the lack of traditional grammar teaching in schools is starting to impact the competency of our workforce.

Writing to a good standard is not just about communicating clearly, but about demonstrating your own aptitude and that you actually have something to say. There can be nothing less appealing than an incomprehensible newsletter filled with punctuation errors. Prospects will simply unsubscribe and regard your company on the whole as being incompetent.

Business people might need to learn how to KISS to improve their writing, but it would appear that future generations have a lot more to learn as well.

This week I want to discuss what I call, "The Kiss of Death" in a relationship. Here's the scenario: You meet a single girl that you're absolutely crazy about. Everything is going ok the first few dates and you are on cloud nine. Then she starts acting cold towards you and seems distant.

You are confused and can't figure out for the life of you what has gone wrong. You were hitting it off so well, you both laughed and had good times together, and the sex was fantastic.

Then all of a sudden she tells you that she wants to cool it for awhile. In other words she wants to stop seeing you for awhile. You ask her why and she replies, "I need some space."

This answer is what I was referring to as, "The Kiss of Death" in a relationship. What she is really trying to say is she does not want to date you anymore. It's just her way of saying it's over and she does not want to be tied down to a relationship.

So, when a woman tells you that she needs space just let her go. Do you really want to be someone who doesn't want to be with you? Just move on, get over it and get on with your life. Perhaps it was just not meant to be. She may try to come back into your life later on, but for now just let her have her space. If you want to get back with her later on then that's your option.

This same scenario has happened to me a few times in my dating experiences. It happens to a lot of guys and you just have to deal with it. Chalk it up to as part of the dating game. You win some and you lose some.

In closing, keep in mind that some single women are afraid of commitment and they end relationships that are getting to close by saying that they need their space and want to stop seeing you.

I have a friend named Tony who is kind of a shy guy but is one of the nicest people I have ever met. The girls just love him. Everywhere we go, the girls always flirt with him and visa versa.

Let this go down in the annals of history; owning, building and running a business and all the training and expertise that goes behind those successful endeavors is nothing compared to the rigorous, energy consuming, flabbergasting if not downright humorous search for a “man-made” match from heaven. The exercise is a combination litany of experiences that would make even the most ardent professional squirm.

Imagine being typically slotted and type-cast into the category of divorced, 54 years of age, mother of three, with a track record of two relationships to chalk up to experience, one of four years and another of two in between frequent trips abroad, much volunteer work on various Boards and still the wholesome pickings are slim. Eventually the expectations begin to tarnish, just a little.

The question begs an answer; just how many frogs do I have to kiss? And at what price? Dating stories and experiences would make any psychoanalyst jump up and down at the prospects of gaining more insight into the human experience of relationships or lack thereof and an opportunity to coach an individual through the maze of emotions that surface after each go-around. Perhaps these would be well kept in an A to Z of emotional upsets and how to identify core issues, heal and integrate them.

No, it is not a good idea to treat a relationship like a business project. Besides being hard work, the dividends fall short of paying come year-end. Accepting dishonesty and compromising one’s self-dignity just to stay in a relationship is probably an issue of self-worth that is thirsting to be addressed. Becoming the good replacement surrogate mother hen is nice if you like being a mother to your children up until the age they are leaving the nest, but it doesn’t have to become a life long occupation. That too is a no-no. At some point the boy becomes a man, detaching himself of the apron strings and taking the label “broken, need to be fixed” off his forehead. I can attest to the fact that it doesn’t help to try fix anyone other than yourself. Honesty begins inside.

Assistance comes in the form of my children, my personal Board of advisors. In a New Year discussion about what was the best thing I did during the course of the year, the vote was in; breaking up the relationship. All my daughters involve themselves in the process, “Never mind the titles, or the business, is he fun?” quips the youngest, “because the previous one wasn’t!” Or another time, my daughter and I were enjoying an ice cream cone on the street. Upon reflecting upon the tag line of a dating agency about finding someone suave who doesn’t need a broom to sweep you off your feet, my eldest daughter and I observed a man across the road sweeping the street, “Oh mom, I don’t mind a broom, a tractor, anything at least someone doing something.” Laughs are the order of the day when dating agents reveal their tactics for hunting down the perfect “frog prince”. Like the movie of supermarket lineups as targets for males in the Express line up with small baskets, a clue to the state of their relationships. Then there was the story about the date that was found for me in a well-known coffee shop. A good-looking man who was approached by the “matchmaker”; was this lovely lady with him his date, partner or acquaintance? Upon submission to the question he was promptly recruited and hitched with his potential suitor, that being me.

The whole experience gives a glimpse for divesting the need to be accepted, feeling worthy, realizing the search for and reclaiming the feminine power, the sexual energy or creativity that was lost in the business of being a woman entrepreneur. Being open and spiritual helps. The inner world reveals itself through dreams and intuitions, reliable guides to whether something is worth pursuing or not, natural and easy. Like the time I had a dream with this man who was standing in my bathroom of all places. And me, well I was stark naked of course and feeling just a little shy or uncomfortable in his presence. All he wanted to do was just take me home and we know that home is simply where the heart is. Here I am in all my glory, this is me, this is who I am, real and authentic and open to finding a relationship based on trust, honesty and integrity. Perhaps this is the truth behind a soulmate connection, perhaps someone is finally on the way and maybe, just maybe this is the last frog I need to kiss……

I like the phrase a lot but the "Stupid" does not really apply to anyone in business. I would like to change the phrase to be more business oriented. I believe it should be called; "Keep it Simple and Straightforward."

Keeping it simple and straightforward will help you to stay focused on your home based business. Do you have unnecessary people, software, electronics, accounting methods, or debt that is dragging your business down?

When we are working on or in our home based business one thought that should be in the forefront of our minds is the word simple.

Some Questions to Keep it Simple and Straightforward:

* Can my business run without a lot of people?

* Is the software that I use easy enough for anyone to learn?

* Do I have the proper systems in place to allow the business to continue incase I become ill or disabled?

* How easy and efficient are my marketing campaigns and tracking systems?

* Is the accounting process fairly straightforward?

* How can I simplify the sales process?

* Do I have backups of all my vital home based business information?

The questions above are to help you to step out of your home based business and look at it with a more discerning eye. I know how hard it is, and to make it easier I came up with a fairly easy way to look at your company from a birds eye view.

To look at your home based business from a different view you first need to step out of the business. I find that the best way to do that is to take a day away from the business and use that day to visualize the daily activities, tasks and processes that make my business work.

I evaluate all the various steps needed to acquire or perform sales, marketing, products, networking and accounting. I look at each phase of my business individually. I might as an example, take my sales process and break down each step from start to completion and see if it fits my KISS (Keep it Simple and Straightforward) concept.

Then I will move on to each aspect of my business in the same fashion. I try not to forget the mundane or mechanical parts of the business even though they may slip by on some of my brainstorming sessions. Once you have completed your brainstorming sessions you may want to make priority lists as I mention in my article Time Management Tips. The priority lists will help you to stay focused and on the track to simplifying your home based business.

You will be amazed at how many of your own home based business solutions you will come up with by using this concept. The more I look at all my procedures and processes the more I can fine tune them into becoming more simple, efficient, cost effective and profitable.

The KISS method is always in the forefront of my mind when I think of how an easy home based business is supposed to be. Actually I am finding that an easy home based business might not be out of the question with this strategy!

Are Resume Templates the "Kiss of Death"?

The Resume/Curriculum Vitae market place is both a crowded and competitive one. I know this because it is a market of which I am a part.

As a consumer, you may have observed the torrents of conflicting advice about how you should or should not proceed with your own Resume or Curriculum Vitae. I would not be surprised if you had either taken the decision to ignore all the advice and forge ahead with your own resources or conversely, found yourself paralysed by too much [mis]information.

Reading the range of views it is clear that writers begin from a variety of perspectives, which may include;

- Employers revile the use of Resume/CV templates as an inditement on the creativity of applicants
- Employers despair on receiving Resumes and CV’s that exceed 2 pages (or whatever number is the current fashion).
- The average job seeker does not have the competence to write their own Resume/CV and should hire a Consultant
- Job seekers should use their own intuition and common-sense and don’t need any further guidance
- The average job seeker needs a little help to stay up to date with current recruitment trends and terminology

These are but a small sample of opinions available to you. Let’s take the first two perspectives on employer’s needs.

An employer wants, first and foremost, a Resume that matches, as clearly and concisely as possible, an applicant’s training, knowledge, skills and experience to the requirements of the position for which they are recruiting. Do they really care whether you have paid a consultant hundreds of dollars, or used a professional and flexible Resume template that can be adapted to your needs? I think NOT! What the employer does not want is a flimsy and irrelevant document that is produced to “fit” recruitment fashions.

Not exactly rocket-science, is it? Why then do professional Resume consultants/writers insist on the “one right way” approach to YOUR Resume or CV? Perhaps the reason is nothing more complicated than these same consultants and writers have only one way to offer. This perspective does not make sense, of course, given that the job market is a huge and infinitely variable beast. Your two-page Resume may be perfect for the retail position you seek, but grossly inadequate for the medical, science or teaching position you would love to win.

Let us now consider the last 3 perspectives on job seekers. Are you a hopeless “career wreck” that cannot be trusted to write your own Resume or CV? Or are you a highly experienced and skilled writer that needs no further input? The fact that you are reading materials about Resume and CV development suggests to me that you are more likely to see yourself as competent and skilled, but in search of some refinements that will give you the edge. This is true of most aspiring applicants. One thing is certain - YOU will know far more about your profession or industry than 99% of the consultants wanting your business (including me!).

This is where professional and flexible Resume/CV templates are invaluable. You don’t want a consultant to be making assumptions about the requirements of your industry or profession. You might however need a bit of helpful advice on the;

- types of information that a good Resume/CV would include
- use of positive language and appropriate self promotion techniques
- layout and presentation of your Resume/CV to maximise the relevance and ease of reading

This is why I offer my customers a guide book (“Write Yourself A Job!”) as well as a variety of Resume/CV templates and Covering Letters that can be adapted according to individual needs. They have served job seekers from many different sectors.

Given that you are the expert on your own capacities and abilities, the use of a Resume/CV template may be ideal for your circumstance. Should you decide to proceed in this way what should you be looking for in Resume/CV templates? Ideally you will want

- several templates from which to choose
- templates which include plain text formats, capable of being uploaded onto web-based recruitment sites
- template formats that have the flexibility to add or delete sections and headings
- a final Resume/CV product that is well laid out, providing consistent and orderly information for the benefit of the reader
- templates based on commonly-used software (for example, Microsoft Word, which can also be edited in the standard Windows “Wordpad” application)

Don’t take the advice of any consultant or writer as gospel. Think about your own situation and needs. If a selection of templates will make your task simpler and enhance the presentation of your Resume or CV, why not use them?

In summary, no one approach to Resume/CV writing will suit all job seekers or circumstances. Go with your instincts on the level of support you need. Why pay anyone for any level of service if you are highly skilled in marketing your own abilities? Don’t be afraid of using high-quality templates if you simply need to enhance your presentation. Or if you really do feel that you don’t have the competence to develop a winning Resume or CV, then by all means retain a Consultant to frame your Resume for you. Just make sure they understand the critical elements of your profession, industry and your own background before undertaking the task.

Once you have an approach that is appropriate to your needs, build on it. Keep a “running record” of training, skills, knowledge, experience, research and other projects, memberships etc. This forms a database from which future Resumes or CV’s can be easily extracted.

Whenever someone mentions France, I think of romance. Don’t you? I mean, how many countries that you know have a kiss named after it? I think of kissing in hidden spots in gardens, bicycling the beautiful countryside, munching croissants with café au lait, and beautiful couples walking arm-in-arm along a cobblestone street.

France has an abundance of gardens. There is a wonderful web resource listing gardens all over France via an interactive map at Jardinex.com There are photos with lush descriptions, as well as basics like what time the garden opens and what the fees are. Be sure to visit Giverny, the famous garden where Monet painted!

Everyone knows that France is a beautiful place to take cycling tours. One web site where you can get started is FrenchCyclingHolidays.com There is a variety of tours from vineyards to castles, including beaches, mountains or rivers. And of course, Le Tour de France is one of the most famous bicycling events in the world.

Croissants and coffee are one of my very favorite breakfasts. Oddly enough, it became so when I lived in Texas and frequented a little French café style restaurant called La Madeleine. b. Walking. Walking is not just a left-right-left-right activity to strain the muscles of your feet and legs. Rather, it can serve as a way to temporarily get away from all the life stressors. Walking gives you a break from the busy life, while allowing you to explore the environment to which you belong to. Apart from, it generates your body's happy drugs - endorphins., while increasing your body's resistance and energy as well.

c. Laughing. Many say that "Laughter is a good medicine". Well, this is in fact very true. Aside from the obvious reasons that laughter allows you to escape from the thoughts and feelings of sadness, anger or other negative activities, laughter has the power to lessen the level of stress hormones like adrenaline, cortisol, and dopamine in your body. It also heightens your level of health-enhancing hormones and anti-body producing cells. On top of it all, laughter serves as a way for emotional release, and it attracts friends who can possibly enhance your social life as well.

d. Listening... to the music, that is. Just like writing and laughing, listening to the music allows you to get in touch with your real emotions. Apart from that, it helps you release those hidden feelings as well- may it be of guilt, remorse, or whatsoever dreaded feeling. Listening to the music, especially those of the upbeat and glee type, can also help you focus on positive aspects of your life instead of dwelling on terrible thoughts of being all alone. Wealth Creation – Kiss it or Say Goodbye!

I never thought that I would find myself using the old Kiss cliché ("Keep it Short and Simple" or “Keep it Simple Stupid). I’ve always preferred Einstein’s approach, "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler."

Yet wealth creating is simple. Incredibly and utterly simple. When creating wealth becomes complicated it’s time to stop and take measure. It’s clearly time to get back on the track of simplicity before one gets derailed. Wealth creating is not about “running a business” “making money” “investing” “earning an income” “having a great job” and the like. Far too complicated and time consuming for the serious wealth creator. There are, as you know, tens of thousands of books written on those subjects and guess what? The great majority of people still struggle financially through life. We all know of couples who have “great jobs” and are earning “high incomes” and making “heaps of money” yet still struggle to make ends meet at the end of each month. Commitments and expenses seem to sadistically expand to the level of the money available to meet them.

And of course we all know of people who were on very low incomes who end up fabulously wealthy.

So by all means keep at your job or business and retain the status quo – but quite separately, begin your new part time wealth creation program ASAP.

One of the biggest hurdles is that people at some level have the desire to be wealthy but do not know exactly what “wealth creation” is. Those whose real estate or investments rose in value, know that they are “wealthier” but see the obvious element of luck in the fact that prices rose opportunistically. Others coming into the same market, are “on a wing and a prayer” hoping that prices will continue to rise so they too can benefit.

Without knowing precisely what wealth creation is, it is impossible to become “wealth” conscious.

So let’s get Wealth Creation in focus and keep it simple.

Please consider:

A business has a gross annual income and from that total pays all overheads. From the net income or profit (if any) tax is payable. Now the amount that is left, can either be used to create wealth - or it can be spent on non-wealth creating products or services - for example, spending the surplus on a vacation etc.

Similarly a working couple has a combined gross annual income and from that total pays all domestic overheads. Now the amount that is left, can either be used to create wealth - or it can be spent on non-wealth creating products or services - for example, spending the surplus on a vacation etc.

So you can readily observe from the above two examples that there is a difference between “business” and wealth creation and “income” and wealth creation.

Wealth, put simply, is the total realizable value of one’s total material assets. That is if you have antiques worth $10,000.00 or gold worth $10,000.00 or acme widgets worth $10,000.00, your wealth is $10,000.00. Obvious and simple, yes? It’s so simple it’s a no-brainer!

Wealth Creation is NOW whilst investing is about planning (and praying) for the future. A wealth creator wants to multiply the value of his or her realizable wealth total NOW!

That is, if those antiques or widgets are genuinely worth $10,000.00 the wealth creator will buy them at $5,000.00 or less. At the point of purchase, at least $5,000.00 is added to the wealth total. Unlike the speculator or the investor, a Wealth Creator does not buy on the hope or the gamble that the purchase will rise in value. “Yikes - no way! Keep it simple – the golden rainbow of tomorrow may not come. I want my added wealth now – the minute I pay I intend being wealthier. Let others get their crystal ball out and start praying.”

Note that:

A wealth creator spends money and becomes wealthier.

The average punter spends money and becomes poorer.

The speculator gambles.

The investor hopes and prays.

Who of the above has the most fun?

And having fun is part of wealth creation. For example, Bob and June, part time wealth creators in England, keep in touch with me regularly. After reading my book, they used the money they each spend on each other as Christmas and birthday gifts to begin their wealth program. Instead of buying each other a present for $100.00 and knowing that as soon as they leave the shop the value of that present is probably about $30.00 maximum and thereafter declines in value to become a worthless keepsake, they became wealth conscious. He loves early watercolors and she collects estate jewellery. So off to the auctions and sales they went. Once they became wealth conscious and in a wealth program, when they spend that $100.00 on an item, the item is usually worth $300.00.

They’ve been at it now for four and a half years. The two birthday and two Christmas presents added up. They buy and sell when ever possible. Today they have art and jewellery worth tens of thousands of pounds and their wealth total is going up at an astronomical rate. Even more important they have immense fun in the process.

Business proprietors have every right to have all the hassles of working hard, paying the overheads and hopefully making a profit. The wealth creator takes a short cut through the whole tedious process and goes straight for the jugular – WEALTH CREATION.

To a wealth creator liquidating a part of one’s wealth gives the opportunity to increase the overall wealth total. In stark contrast, the business proprietor needs turnover to pay the overheads.

How ever much money you have available for your part time wealth program, two points are clearly obvious. (1) Your money is always limited - so you can afford to be extremely choosy. And (2) because you are always multiplying your wealth by at least 100%, it doesn’t matter how little you have to start with.

Multiply $20 in wealth only 15 times and you are up around the $250,000.00 mark. After that the sky is the limit.

That is why a single wage family following a wealth program and who are able to live within their means, can end up far wealthier than a multiple large income family.

The Hershey Kiss Pick Up Technique

Here's a great tip that I found on another website. In a brief article, the author described a great pick-up technique which virtually guarantees you won't be turned down.

It works like this...

First you go to a grocery store and purchase a bag of Hershey Kisses. Make sure you buy two different types of bags. Ie: Chocolate, swirl, almond, etc. Then make sure you carry these Hershey Kisses with you everywhere you go. (Obviously replacing the ones that melt)

Then when you spot an attractive woman, you walk up to her with one Hershey Kiss in each of your hand. Approach her with a big confident smile and tell her "When I see a beautiful woman, I always have to give her a kiss..." Then hold out both of your hands and say "Which do you prefer, chocolate or swirl?"

While it's a bit of goofy way to approach somebody, you'll probably get her to smile and laugh. It's also provides a low pressure way to start talking without resorting to corny pick up lines which NEVER work on women.

Normally I don't recommend any pick-up technique which is cheesy or lower status. But this one seems to actually be pretty effective. You just have to have a good opener to follow once you use this approach technique.

Also it's definitely unique and some women will find it pretty cute. The key to doing this is to target a woman who doesn't look too preoccupied and looks like she wants to be approached.

How To Get Boys To Kiss You

The first kiss is the hardest. You could ask him to kiss you, but that takes a lot of courage. But you can tell, without reading his mind. Here are some clues. He could have worked on the science project with someone else, but he asked you or he could have sat anywhere in the cafeteria, but he sat next to you. It all means he likes to hang out with you. And what about when you're with him. Does he sit close to you? Does he smile and look happy when you're together? These are all signs that he likes you and might want to kiss you.

Sometimes people who are nervous send out mixed signals. You might want him to kiss you, but your nervous behavior might be saying "stay away." First of all your posture should be open. Kiss the Ring: Hierarchy Matters

Someone once asked a Washington insider how to deal with important people whom you can’t stand. His reply? “You put on your respectful face and you don’t blink.” This strategy is known in business circles as “kissing the ring.” Its origins lie in a much earlier era, when royalty and clerics wore rings of office denoting their status. Bowing your head as you kissed their rings was how you showed respect for their office, while not necessarily feeling that sentiment towards the characters themselves.

Why go to the trouble to show deference to someone you don’t personally like or respect? In the cut and thrust world of business, as in the political sphere, it’s all about survival. Or, to look at it more positively, enlightened self-interest. Like it or not, the business world is structured by a strong sense of hierarchy. Why else would we be so fixated on gaining promotions and better titles? Those high up can have a significant impact upon your reputation and career: positive if they like you and see you playing by the rules, negative if they feel slighted by you in some way. Showing them the appropriate respect helps keep your career path obstacle free.

“Kissing the ring” might mean responding in a neutral to positive way when someone important says something off base in a meeting. Or staying positive with your boss when he or she doesn’t understand what you’re trying to do or say. However irritated or amazed you feel, keep your facial expression kind and free of negativity, a kind of poker face. It’s worth practicing this in front of the mirror so that it’s ready to put on when you need it.

“Kissing the ring” doesn’t mean being sycophantic though. It’s just about treading carefully around egos. There’s nothing wrong with telling a senior person that you think there might be a better way of doing things, but just make sure that you think strategically and don’t react there and then, especially if there are others present. If you are genuinely concerned about something you might want to bring it up in private in a neutral way but not make a big deal out of it. You do this by talking about it in a low-key way, tactfully introducing your point by saying, “By the way, what do you think of…” or, “Is there is a case to be made for this other point of view?”

Are there “don’t kiss the ring” moments too? You bet. As soon as anything looks the slightest bit immoral or illegal you need to stop and think. Don’t jump to conclusions, but once you’ve confirmed that something improper is up, do everything you can to extricate yourself from the situation before you get into trouble. If, for example, your company requires that the highest level person at a dinner should pick up the expenses then you might hesitate before paying for something so that your boss doesn’t have to put it on his or her expense report. While illegality is something that you should always report, without exception. There are ex-employees of Enron or Health South, currently in jail, who probably wish they had spoken up, or even left their jobs, rather than keeping mum.

“Kissing the ring” is one of a repertoire of respectful behaviors that will serve you in good stead with high ranking people. At some point in your career you will have to suck in your gut and show deference to a senior person whom you can’t stand. Be prepared for it.

The following article is an edited excerpt that I have picked from the writings of Professor Edmond Bordeaux Szekely.

Prof Szekely was probably the most influential person in the life of Mr. Kenneth S. Jaffrey, the author of over 25 books on Natural Living and Natural Healing.

On matters of diet and nutrition, Prof. Szekely was a ‘No Nonsense’ kind of person.

Professor Szekely quantified diet.

He reasoned, scientifically, that the optimal diet that sustains the human physiology could be presented in the following categories.

Category I

Raw Juicy Fruits

• These are the richest in vitalizing properties.

• In this pure form it contains in perfect synthesis the unified cosmovital radiations of the four elements: sun, air, earth, water.

• The foods of this category are the best conservers of perennial youth.

• They are the ideal food for the intellectual and sedentary worker and ideal for everyone during warm seasons and in warm climates.

Ed Note:

- Some fruits, like the pawpaw will grow, ripen and mature over a period of 9 months – that’s a lot solar radiations stored up in ‘them thar fruits.’

- Fruits are filled with waters – waters that carry the vital elements needed to produce the chemical reactions necessary for life and all its functions.

- Only at the table of fruits will your palate be truly satisfied.

- If you haven’t been seduced by the texture, the colour and the myriad of tastes sensations that arise from over the hundreds of different types available – well, you haven’t lived yet.

Category II

Salads and Raw Vegetables

• These complement Category I, corresponding likewise to the liquid content of the human organism.

• (Ed Note: These foods should be eaten in their full compliment – from the leaf, fruit and root variety.)

• It will also be realized that vegetables reach their potential quicker than their counterpart – fruits – and therefore absorb fewer radiations – those life-giving elements that constitute the basis of life.

Category III

Cereals

• These consist not of eliminative, but of building foods.

• They are chiefly muscle builders, while their organic minerals contribute to the formation of the bones.

• They are an excellent food, particularly for manual labourers and sportsmen and for all in general in cold seasons and climates.

• Through muscular activity they are transformed into muscle; through inactivity they become fatty tissue; taken in larger amounts than necessary they scorify the organism.

• This category is the only one which it is permissible to use either raw or cooked.

• To minimize and shorten the cooking of all cereals they should be soaked in water before cooking.

Category IV

Dried, sweet and oily fruits, milk products, eggs.

• These contain the most concentrated and heat-producing and exceptionally nourishing foods.

• In larger amounts than required, they hinder the process of elimination and create fatty tissue in the organism.

• They are excellent in cold seasons and climates, and for hard manual labourers in whose organisms they are transformed into muscle fibre.

• Sedentary and intellectual workers need very little of them, and much less during warm seasons and in warm climates than in cold.

Category V

Cooked vegetables

• These have no therapeutic value.

• The foods listed in it cause no elimination, but contribute only building elements of an inferior character, as most of them have to be cooked.

• Considering that these vegetable products are not particularly toxic, and as a compromise for persons with unmanageable appetites it is permissible, but not recommended, to eat them once a week.

• They are not so disadvantageous to manual labourers as to sedentary and intellectual workers.

• The dry legumes (pulses) should only be used rarely, as their constant use greatly scorifies the organism.

Be Careful For Whom You Kiss

Worldwide, there are billions of kisses exchanged between people every year. The casual pecks on the cheek, the California air-kiss, or the cultured kiss on the hand aren't much of a threat. However, a kiss that exchanges saliva from one to another is an entirely different matter. Saliva carries microorganisms, bacteria and viruses. You've probably heard the mouth is the dirtiest place in the body: a human bite has more bacteria and is more dangerous than a dog bite, according to the Center for Disease Control. The CDC also preaches that hand washing is "the single most effective way to prevent the transmission of disease". However, they don't talk much about kissing. None of us likes to think that something we enjoy so much could be hazardous to our health.

Unlike ordinary dirt, the hitch with germs is that they are invisible. Most of them are so small they can only be seen through a microscope. Their diminutive size, however, doesn't reduce their threat. Many different types of bacteria, like Strep Mutans, the bugs responsible for cavities, can be transferred from one mouth to another through kissing. Other organisms, like viruses, parasites, and yeasts, can be passed along as well.

Since gum diseases are the equivalent of open wounds, kissing or having oral sex when you or your partner has bleeding gums, is a real invitation for transmission of unwanted organisms. Be careful: keep your mouth as healthy and germ-free as possible every day. Make sure your partner takes preventive actions too, so you can both enjoy those intimate smooches.

Smoking Smells: Kiss Them Goodbye

Smoking odors can cling like a nagging mistress long after you have decided to call it quits. You may have forgotten how it was like to have your daily cigarette puffs, but you better make sure that your clothing, your upholstery, and your entire environment supports that cool change you have made for yourself. There is nothing more thoroughly defeating than being able to overcome the nasty habit but not being able to eliminate the smell of smoking in your life.

Eliminate smell of smoking in many ways, but make sure that you get to work at it consistently until much of the odor decides to move on and kiss your belongings and surroundings goodbye. There are natural as well as chemical alternatives to eliminate smell of smoking in your home. Referred to as high speed internet, DSL, or cable modem, a broadband internet connection is four times faster than your current networking configuration, and the term "broadband" can be applied to any connection transferring at least 256 kilobits of data per second. No dial-up connection could ever match that speed regardless of how much you tweak your registry, or the number of times that you clear your cache!

Some people are resistant to new technology and declare that they'll stick to their archaic connection no matter what. "After all, I really only use my computer to download email," they say. Kiss the T.O.A.D. for Sales Effectiveness

There is a fairy tale told about the Princess who kisses a FROG. An ugly FROG. In fact, it was so ugly, most people believe it was really a TOAD. The fairy tale explains that once the Princess kisses the TOAD he turns into a Prince because her kiss breaks the spell of an evil witch.

So, what does kissing the toad have to do with Sales Effectiveness?

Kissing the T.O.A.D. is the cornerstone to improved sales effectiveness because T.O.A.D. stands for:

Territory

Opportunity

Action-planning

Discussion

This is a discussion that must occur monthly and focuses on targeted account growth and territory success.

Management may refer to these meetings as a monthly performance review, but they are not individual performance reviews. They are a review of territory performance based on objective performance metrics only. These meetings must be considered by both management and the territory salesperson as Territory Opportunity Action-planning Discussions because that is exactly what they are.

The T.O.A.D. is the most important component of improved sales effectiveness. Critical performance issues are discussed during the T.O.A.D. It provides the forum for Sales Management and the Territory Manager to discuss, plan, and measure success. These discussions introduce accountability and identify opportunities for improvements with action planning specific to each objective. It is the Sales Manager’s job to not simply participate in this process, but to use these opportunities to coach, counsel, and correct issues regarding performance. If conducted properly, the T.O.A.D. process will become an effective tool in improving both the Sales Manager’s and Territory Manager’s performances.

The only purpose of the monthly T.O.A.D. is to improve territory performance. T.O.A.D. should not include any activities that do not directly support this goal. If the Territory Manager does not find the review helpful, it has not served its purpose.

These sessions are not intended to be disciplinary in nature. They support rather than replace the existing annual performance appraisals. Remember, you are primarily reviewing territory performance, not individual performance, although the two are obviously linked.

How Important is the T.O.A.D.?

All companies are in constant need of aggressive, creative and resourceful salespeople to have their products specified, accepted and used by customers. Without informed and capable field salespeople, no distributorship could hope to compete in the marketplace today.

But how often have any of us stopped to consider the fact that good salespeople, the kind who can help a company really grow, don’t just happen to come along by chance or fate? There is no such thing as a “born salesperson,” because selling ability is much more than an intangible given that a person either has or does not have.

Granted, selling does require certain attributes in a person. He or she should, for example, be basically outgoing in manner and capable of making a genuinely favorable impression almost immediately. Also, the person must be intelligent, able to grasp ideas and details easily, retain them and recall them for use whenever necessary in selling situations. These factors and many others relating to personal and emotional characteristics are contributing elements in the makeup of the successful salesperson.

But are these characteristics all that are required to make a successful territory manager? Obviously they are not. A salesperson must have adequate tools, resources and leadership to maximize his or her effectiveness. That is why you should kiss the T.O.A.D. That is why the T.O.A.D. is so vital. It provides the support and the resources to ensure each salesperson has the opportunity to maximize his or her personal effectiveness.

Have You Kissed The T.O.A.D. Lately?

The monthly T.O.A.D. is the platform for sales effectiveness. It is vital that the T.O.A.D. follows a structured process. This is not because there is a single, best way to approach a T.O.A.D., but because the discussion needs to minimize subjective, personal issues and maximize creative thinking and the free flow of information. The T.O.A.D. reduces subjectivity by using clear, objective measurements and by making all commitments between the Territory Manager and the Sales Manager explicit rather than implicit.

To kiss the T.O.A.D., you must show respect.

Creating Enthusiasm and Mutual Respect

Establishing intent is critical. This is not a session for reprimand or criticism. The Sales Manager should ask if he or she truly has the desire to:

• Increase Territory Managers’ incentives

• Help them achieve preset objectives

• Help them improve performance

• Remove obstacles and provide resources and support

This is the only way to get the respect necessary for the T.O.A.D.

A generally positive attitude is necessary to promote the maximum and optimum use of knowledge and skills in the selling situation. Such an attitude is also critical to the dynamic of the T.O.A.D. If the majority of your selling force is not receptive toward change at the start, very little can be done to create an atmosphere conducive to success. This attitude problem must be corrected before another step is taken.

There are a number of fundamental steps that can be taken to improve attitude. Some of these are:

• Demonstrate your respect for the Territory Manager by listening first.

• Constantly communicate the value of improved sales effectiveness and demonstrate your commitment through 100% participation and support.

• Create enthusiasm by displaying enthusiasm. (Enthusiasm is contagious!)

• Focus your time with the Territory Manager on coaching and mentoring.

• Display leadership characteristics by making sure the Territory Manager has a thorough understanding of targeting, goal setting and action planning.

Preparing to Kiss the T.O.A.D.

The Territory Manager should prepare for the T.O.A.D. ahead of time by reviewing action plans and objectives for target accounts, checking the commitments made, and defining the support necessary from management. A quick checklist of what went right and what went wrong for each objective will prove very helpful to the T.O.A.D.

The Sales Manager should prepare for the T.O.A.D. by studying the Territory Manager’s monthly and year-to-date sales and profit numbers, and making note of any performance that is above expectations as well as any performance that is below expectations. He should also review his notes from the prior T.O.A.D. for the mutual commitments made and any supplemental territory performance information to be checked. Preparing questions on each specific numeric measurement may be helpful. The Sales Manager should write down specific goals for the T.O.A.D. (what he or she hopes to accomplish) and create a brief agenda. Depending on the situation, he or she may want to forward the agenda and any preparatory information or questions to the representative a few days before the session.

The Actual Act of Kissing the T.O.A.D.

The T.O.A.D. should maximize the participation of the Territory Manager. After all, if he or she does not find the session helpful, it is a waste of time. As much time as possible should be devoted to realizing this goal. Strong Territory Manager participation in the session is one of the most effective methods of developing both an attitude for learning and a desire for successful accomplishment of goals and objectives.

The structure of the T.O.A.D. should follow the diagram below. Remember, you are trying to minimize subjective content and maximize coaching, mentoring and support.

Objectively Assess Performance

A primary source of performance measurement is the scorecard. If you don’t have one, create one. A scorecard is nothing more than a summary of actual performance against identified targets and the objectives set for those targets. The T.O.A.D. should generally begin with a quick look at each measurement, along with the trends the numbers indicate.

Next, progress on action plans for each target account should be checked. If action plan tasks are being completed but the corresponding growth of the account is sub par, the Sales Manager and Territory Manager should discuss the reasons and consider changes to the plan and/or account goals. If the Territory Manager is consistently failing to complete action items on time, a discussion about time management may be warranted.

The Territory Manager and Sales Manager should also verify that the specific commitments made at prior T.O.A.D. sessions have been fulfilled. It is critical that, after kissing the T.O.A.D., both the Territory Manager and the Sales Manager have a clear, shared understanding of territory performance.

Coach, Mentor and Support

The bulk of the time with the T.O.A.D. should be spent on these activities. The Sales Manager should generally approach the T.O.A.D. by listening to the Territory Manager. Where is he or she having problems? What resources does he or she need? Where are his or her key skill and knowledge gaps? How is his or her attitude? Does he or she understand the targeting process and other sales effectiveness concepts?

Items to consider include:

• Improving the Territory Manager’s time management

• Improving the Territory Manager’s use of team-based selling

• Modifying target account goals and action plans

• Providing key resources such as training

• What you, as the Sales Manager, could do better or different to support the Territory Manager

• Understanding the reasons behind a bad attitude or lack of enthusiasm

Agree on New Commitments

When you have finished kissing the T.O.A.D., the Territory Manager and Sales Manager should write down each commitment that both have made to each other. By recording them, you are ensuring that they are explicit rather than assumed and that both of you are in full agreement. Verify any change in the action plans. Reassure the Territory Manager of your support.

Pucker Up

The Territory Opportunity Action-planning Discussion (T.O.A.D.) can be as powerful as the kiss of the princess that turned the Toad into a Prince. It can be the cornerstone of sales effectiveness that maximizes revenue, improves profitability and increases market share for your company.

So, even though some may think fairy tales are for kids, don’t be afraid to Kiss the TOAD. It may be the first step to maximizing sales success in your organization.

Is Email A Handshake Instead of a Kiss?

Choose your sales tools carefully; very, very carefully.

This especially applies when someone sends you an inquiry via email and she requests a conversation.

If you see the words, “I can be reached at…” and a phone number follows, I advise you to call her promptly, without hesitation or delay.

Don’t be lazy, and don’t use the tool you prefer; the one she selected for her initial contact: email.

If she wanted an email, she wouldn’t have bothered inscribing her number, and embedding it into the text of her message. She would have assumed you’d reply by email.

I’ve broken this unwritten rule, and that’s actually how I discovered it was a gaffe.

Whenever I would respond to a request for a call, made by email, with another email, I wouldn’t earn the business of the inquirer.

It worked almost like a negative recipe: Leave this ingredient out and your dough won’t rise, or the dough in your bank account, either!

By requesting a conversation the inquirer is inviting greater intimacy with you, and to substitute a more stand-offish medium, such as email, is the equivalent of offering a handshake when someone wants a kiss.

Do the right thing, defer to their wishes, and you’ll be on your way to business bliss!

Today we cover a particularly sensitive topic – how to go for the kiss. Most guys won’t admit it, but they fumble this moment like a rookie running back. Want to be Walter Payton? Listen up:

First of all, don’t worry – this is by far the TOP question I get from guys. “How do I smoothly go from talking to kissing?” Surprisingly, even the most skilled guys I’ve come across are constantly looking to handle this tricky situation a bit better.

Here we go – the step-by-step guide to being super smooth when it’s time to smootch:

In my estimation, this is where most guys blow it. They know the girl is ready to be kissed, yet they freeze up and pass a bunch of good opportunities to make a move, waiting for that perfect one. Even worse, they’ll wait hoping the woman will make the first move.

If you’re the kind of guy who hesitates, I got news for you… There are no perfect windows of opportunity, just many good ones, and 99% of the time she will not be the first to initiate any form of intimacy. If she does, consider yourself lucky.

How do we handle this slightly awkward situation? Very simply. The key here is spotting these good, small windows of opportunity and then taking advantage of them. Still better is to just create these windows yourself.

Let’s cover this point-by-point:

1) The first thing to make sure of is that you’re both having a good time, getting along well and physical contact has been established. It could be anything from holding hands, to a playful push on the shoulder. At this point it is important that she has touched you in some way indicating interest on her part.

2) When you feel you have reached this point, start slowing down the energy of the interaction. Start subtly moving a bit closer to her, slowing down your speech, and take longer pauses between sentences. The thought here is SUBTLE.

3) Now here’s the secret, the one move that will assure you to be remembered by her as the smoothest guy ever… During each of those pauses in your conversation, stare at her lips. You can even start talking again, though slowly, still staring at her lips. Start slowly moving in closer. The words you’re saying at this point become irrelevant; the sexual tension in the air will be too thick.

4) Slowly move your eyes from her mouth to her eyes and back again. If she has not moved away, or shown any sign of unease, you can place a hand on her hip and bring her in closer.

5) Usually she will lean in the rest of the way and kiss you. After all, at this stage, your lips should only be an inch or two away from hers.

Congratulations! In her mind, you are the world’s smoothest man.

The main reason why we were paying for the anti-virus software was to prevent the loss of precious data and the save the downtime resulting from the system crash due to virus attack. But there was never any humility in the popup windows which asked you to ‘run live update’, ‘your computer is unsafe’, ‘renew or expire’, ‘shell out or crash’. It reflected an arrogant attitude which irked me into thinking how to stick my finger up at those popup anti-virus dictates.

My prayer seemed to be answered. Window Vista’s feature for seeking permission through a pop-up window for running any application aroused my curiosity to know more about it. I found out that there is a new in-built program called Windows Defender which is protecting my computer against pop-ups, slow performance, and security threats caused by unwanted software. It scans the system and contains real-time security! It works with the filter using the database of Microsoft's SpyNet. It recommends corrective actions and minimizes interruptions and helps you stay productive. Windows Defender is FREE. You can download it for Windows XP too!

As in the software, there has been tremendous progress on the hard disc capacity. Now 160GB hard discs have become inexpensive and commonplace. The larger capacity affords the facility to store your data on another partition on the hard disc. I have three partitions, 40GB (C drive), 60GB (D drive), and 60GB (F drive). I use the C drive to install the Windows and other programs. The storage paths of the data are pointed to F drive. In the D drive I have copied program CDs of Windows Vista, the MS Office, and Adobe creative suite. My other favorite progs are also there: World Clock, Calc98, and Sudoku. The new versions of the free utilities as they become available, are downloaded on this drive and kept ready for installation: Skype, Adobe reader, and Irfan view. The storage of data in another partition, i.e. the F drive, prevents the data from being lost if the computer crashes. The C Drive can be formatted in isolation without affecting D and F drives. The storage of programs in the D drive makes it easy, quick and painless to re-install all the programs without much ado.

You need to follow a certain discipline in order to keep the risk of virus attack at bay. The most dangerous sites are the XXX ones. These adult sites open a can of worms which invade your computer. Best is to avoid visiting these sites. However, if you can’t resist temptation of seeing adult pics, there is a safe way to do it. Go to google.com and open preferences. Scroll down to ‘Safe Search Filtering’. Select ‘Do Not Filter My Search Results’. Save preferences. Come back to Google opening screen and click on Images. Now search for adult content by typing out the XXX term in the search bar. Viola! You will see thumbnails of what you are looking for. Click on the thumbnail for a larger size. But do not click on any of the links; if you do you will be drawn straight into the virus whirlpool. And if there are kids in the house, don’t forget to change the preferences back to safe search before shutting down the computer!

The second most common door for the virus is the email client. You have to shut it. The availability of large-storage netmail accounts which started with googlemail, have made the automatic desktop download redundant. Now Aol, Hotmail, Yahoo all have very large storage facilities for your mail. Besides, these are all free and you can open as many accounts as you wish. You can forward your mail messages to these accounts to increase your storage capacity if required. You can download and save the attachments from your inbox mail on to your computer and if you wish to save any mail text, it is best to cut and paste it into a word file and save it on your computer on the F drive. That way the Outlook Express or the MS Outlook become redundant for email, and need not be used at all for this purpose. Not allowing the mail to download directly on to your PC helps in blocking one of the main pathways of infection.

I always find certain freshness in my computer when I reinstall the Windows. This is probably because the usage of the computer results in accumulating all kinds of rubbish data in the memory. I think the best thing to do is to format the C drive and reinstall Windows periodically, once in six months or a year. You can then reinstall the programs stored in the D drive. The latest versions of Skype, Adobe reader and Irfan view downloaded from the net on your F drive, are quickly installed to have them fresh on your computer without the interference of the earlier versions.

Basically you need to install Windows Defender on your Windows XP (or upgrade to Vista), save your data in another partition, and use net based email account for your correspondence. You can then heave a sigh of relief as your fear loss of data would have gone, and you are prepared for the worst by having planned for quick reinstallation of all your programs. You are then ready to kiss Norton good bye!

What a lovely name for a day. A must celebration for those in love. April 28th is Kiss Your Mate Day. And obviously all the readers know what it means. Send ecards full of love messages if you are away with a promise to kiss him or her when you meet. Send an ecard planted with kiss - that will be difficult, but not impossible. And if you are with your mate on 28th April, you know what to do.

Rather than talking about kiss, how about talking of mate? The dictionary defines mate as companion, chum, friend, buddy and so on. In short, some one who is your real good friend. In common parlance, mate refers to a girl friend / boy friend with whom you are in love. Love and kisses obviously go together. A kiss seals the promise of love. But we were speaking about mate, so let us continue. Who do you call your mate? Do you have one? Did you have one? How was your life when you were together? How is your life now, if you have a mate?

Life is heavenly. Life is great. Life is lovely. Life is divine. Life is celestial. Life is marvelous. Life is pleasant. Life is delightful. Life is enchanting. One lives life when one is with one's mate. Am I correct? There is nothing better in life than to have a mate for life with whom we can share everything - all that is good and all that is bad. Many a times, we find that those in love try to hide certain bad things from their mate. A man will find it difficult to tell his mate that he is facing money problems when he is wooing her. Isn't it? Similarly girls will always try to show their best side.

When we call someone a mate, we cross all these limits that we have set for ourselves. We become one heart, one mind in two bodies. Nothing is hidden from each other. Things to keep in mind about home roasting. For one you must be aware of chaffing. Chaff is essentially the skin of the beans that falls off during the roasting process. Try to contain the chaff or it will spread all over your floor.

Prepare all the necessary tools you will need such as having a wooden spoon, spray bottle, and collander. Try having a 550 degree thermometer in the air popper to retain more control over the roasting process as well as having more control over the quality of the process as well. This is especially true if you are using the stovetop popper technique for this activity.

Once you practice this stuff a few times, you will realize that it's very fun and open ended (to a degree). As such no two coffee roasting "chefs" will produce the same exact results. With practice your roasting will become more consistent over time. It's important to just have fun with the process and get your hands dirty with the process rather than go out and buy the most top of the line roasters on the market.

Germs. We’ve been hearing about them since we were toddlers. Our Moms nagged us to wash the dirt off our hands when we came to dinner, and to cover our mouths when we coughed. Teachers taught us about Lister, Pasteur, and the "germ" theory of disease. But who talks about the perils of kissing?

Worldwide, there are billions of kisses exchanged between people every year. The casual pecks on the cheek, the California air-kiss, or the cultured kiss on the hand aren’t much of a threat. However, a kiss that exchanges saliva from one to another is an entirely different matter. Saliva carries microorganisms, bacteria and viruses. You’ve probably heard the mouth is the dirtiest place in the body: a human bite has more bacteria and is more dangerous than a dog bite, according to the Center for Disease Control. The CDC also preaches - and I agree - that hand washing is "the single most effective way to prevent the transmission of disease". However, they don’t talk much about kissing. None of us likes to think that something we enjoy so much could be hazardous to our health.

The American Academy of Periodontology says more than 75% of adults over age 35 have some form of gum disease. The first signs of this infection are tender, swollen, bleeding gums. In their more advanced stages, periodontal diseases not only cause tooth loss but also put people at risk for many dangerous whole-body illnesses. In May 2000, the Surgeon General of the United States revealed studies linking bacterial infections of the mouth with heart attacks, strokes, diabetes complications, ulcers, respiratory problems, cancers, and many other serious diseases. Even premature childbirth and low birth weight babies were mentioned: pregnant women who have a severe gum infection could be nearly eight times more likely to have a premature baby, according to research done by Dr. Steven Offenbacher and colleagues from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry

Unlike ordinary dirt, the hitch with germs is that they are invisible. Most of them are so small they can only be seen through a microscope. Their diminutive size, however, doesn’t reduce their threat. Many different types of bacteria, like Strep Mutans, the bugs responsible for cavities, can be transferred from one mouth to another through kissing. Other organisms, like viruses, parasites, and yeasts, can be passed along as well.

In more than 35 years as a dental hygienist, I have harvested thousands of samples of bacterial plaque from the dark, moist, germ-friendly environments of the mouths of my patients. Under a microscope, the innocuous sticky white film I collected from between their teeth and gums transformed into a squiggling, undulating mass of organisms. This disturbing vision of highly-organized germ life was often all the motivation my patients needed to incorporate baking soda, salt, and diluted hydrogen peroxide into their daily oral care program along with a dental irrigator with a strong disinfectant. Germ warfare!

And don't forget Fido. When your beloved pet slobbers your face with kisses, he is not only demonstrating his love and affection, he is also gifting you his germs. Be sure to keep his mouth healthy too.

How to Kiss and Make Up

Was it a hectic day for you, or did you have one of those slow days that seem to drag on forever? Well, hopefully when you get home, if you are not home already, you will not have some drama you don’t need waiting for you. If you do, we have some ideas about how to quench the drama, deflate your anger and get back to your fun self.

First, you have to start by fighting the right way. Knowing how to have an argument with your honey will go a long way to determine how long you brood over the hurtful things that were said. If your primary goal is to be right when you fight with your guy, then I am afraid you may be constantly setting yourself up for more anger and disappointment, which keeps boiling inside you and ultimately prolongs the time it takes to kiss and make up.

When you fight, do it the right way. Let each party say their piece and make every effort to respect each other’s point of view. When you do that, it is quite easy to see where each person is coming from and forgiveness becomes much easier. When you can forgive, then you know you are ready to kiss and make up. Here are some ways to show that you are ready to forgive and move on:

Crack a joke about something he said during your fight – It takes a mature mind to pull back after a fight, really look at what caused a fight, and see the humor in some of the things that were said in the heat of anger. You can do it, if peace and happiness in your relationship is your ultimate aim in whatever you do.

Take a drive and come home with a smile – Take a drive, call a friend, and talk about something else other than the fight you just had with your honey. It does not pay to air your dirty laundry, lest you get the wrong advice from well-meaning and sometimes jealous friends. When you have taken your long drive, come back to the house, but be sure you stroll in with a smile. Your guy will find it difficult to hold on to his stone face – his heart will definitely melt.

Surprise him with a little note - an apology – Write a quick note and stick it on your refrigerator door. Your guy will surely see and will surely forgive you in no time. You can also place it in pocket of the shirt he will be wearing to work the next day, or on the driver’s seat of his car. Find a creative place to put it. The more creative you are placing your note, the bigger the surprise.

When he least expects it, give him a hug from the back – When you get the opportunity, sneak up to him from the back and give him a big hug. He will not push you off. Turn him around, apologize and give him a big kiss, and he will forget what you were arguing about.

Have dinner together at home – The stomach is still the key to a man’s heart. Order something he loves, or if you can, whip up a mean dish. Cook his favorite and he will forgive you without you tendering any formal apologies. Your efforts will do the apologizing for you – after all, action speaks much louder than words.

Pinch his butt, ease into a French kiss and make love – Believe it or not, men love it when you pinch their butt. They do it to women and when the table is turned on them, they find it quite amusing. Pinching his butt after everyone has cooled off from a fight shows that you are ready to have fun. Just go ahead and plant a wet one on him, and move on to building a loving relationship.

“What’d ya-think Lee, she’s ready to give you a big kiss—know!” said Roger.

“I’ve never kissed a girl before,” answered Lee, with hesitation.

“Does she agree, without you making her?”

“Yes, yes, yes, of course, she said its ok, but the offer is not going to last forever. If youre afraid just pass it up, it’s your loss. Sherry is waiting with warm-lips, make up your mind man.”

“No, I’m not afraid” said Lee, taking in a deep breathe, looking at Sherry, her beautiful blond hair, silk-like hair, long shapely legs, dark blue eyes, thin waist.

“How old’s your brother Mike?” asked Rodger.

“Thirteen, right,” Mike looking at me.

“Yaw, thirteen.” I affirmed.

“Well, here you go, she’s seventeen,” said Rodger whom was nineteen.

I said in my mind, boy he gets the re good looking babe’s.

Several of the neighborhood kids were standing about waiting for the event to take place, it all started as a practical joke when they found out I had never kissed a girl.

The gang was watching impatiently, making gestures to one another as if to say: let’s get this on the road, or forget it, it’s getting old news.

I decided at that moment as the gestures were being thrown back and forth, to make my move, glancing over at Rodger as he looked here and there, with a grin, being the man of the hour with his girlfriend,

“Ok, I’m ready!”

Rodger was one of the main members of the unofficial neighborhood gang, or if you will, group-members, otherwise known as the ‘The Cayuga Street-Donkeyland Gang,’ so nick-named by a police officer that patrolled the area, and for the most part was partial to the kids. He had said once, and Lee overheard it,

“You kids down here are a bunch of Dinkies…ya-all live in Donkeyland, just a bunch of hard-headed kids.”

I guess when he went to the St. Paul, Police Station where he worked; he referred to the location [Cayuga Street by Oakland Cemetery] as Donkeyland. Whatever, I picked up on it and it never left my mind, and I told the guys.

As Sherry approached Lee, standing at one time several feet to his side by Rodger, now approached him, she was within two feet. She smiled that soft, reserved smile; put her hand on his shoulders,

“You ready, Lee?” she asked.

“Yup,” he commented. My friend Bill is an accomplished public speaker. He gave a short talk recently about being brief and getting to the point.

He used these examples about the power of short.

Lincoln’s second inaugural address of only 701 words contains 505 one syllable words and 122 two syllable words.
The Gettysburg Address contains 266 words.
The Ten Commandments contains 297 words.
The Declaration of Independence contains 300 words.
The U. S. Government Order to Reduce the Price of Cabbage contains 26,911 words.

You get the point.

Practice keeping it simple this week. I just did in 134 words.

Are you guilty of taking extra words to fill in the blanks when the blanks don't need filling in?

Try using another acronym for being a better communicator.

You have probably heard about the KISS principle, it simply means Keep It Simple Stupid. Nothing is farther from the truth when it comes to writing books. It is especially true for How to style books and certainly anything has to do with training. The general run besides simplicity is to write for the grade eight to grade ten levels for all audiences. When I was doing writing for a large corporation, the materials were to be read by the top executives. I had to be particularly careful to get to the point and put it in simple language. It was not because the executives could not read, it was they did not have time to absorb more than a few lines and get the point of the communication.

Most people do not take time to absorb technical writing unless it is part of their job or they are in the world of academics. I like to find books that are written so anyone can understand what is being said and if it is a training manual, they will be able to put the topic to immediate use. When you write, find out who your audience is and then try to write for that audience. Leave your "methodologies" out of the text unless someone else is doing a research project with you and you want them to know you have a large technical vocabulary.

Any book should flow from one topic to another. Even chapters should make some sense for order. Often books are dealing with complex subjects that need to be broken down in a manner than is continuous. The chapters in this book were written as twenty separate areas and although some of them are related, most are not. This was done by design.

Just think of being in front of a warm cracking with you partner in your hands, with a kiss and a cuddle. But have you ever thought about why people kiss? It could be a greeting or a sign of affection, but we all kiss.

Origin of the kiss

The strangest theory on the history of the kiss that I have heard finds its roots in the age of the cave man. It is thought that in primitive times that a mother pre-chewed the food for her baby and transferred it 'in a kiss'. Although this could never be proved, it would explain why the kiss is a sign of affection, between mother and child and latter, adults.

Another theory that I found was that the kiss was reflected in the Ziller Valley of Central Europe, where the exchange of pre-chewed tobacco between a male and a female was common. The young man would let a tip of the piece of tobacco, or spruce resin, etc rest between his closed teeth and invite the girl to grasp it with her teeth -- which of course obliged her to press her mouth firmly on that of the young man -- and pull it out. If a girl accepted the wad of pre-chewed tobacco, it meant she returned the boy's love.

The third theory that I found was from a religious or sacred origin. There have been examples from around the world as early as 2000 BC, that show that people could have brought their faces together to symbolise spiritual union. Even in the culture of Indians, it was believed that the exhaled breath was part of the soul, and by two people bringing their mouths together, showed the joining of their souls. (Another variation on this believed that kissing evolved from the smelling of a companion's face as an act of greeting. )

Kiss through history

Even without fully knowing where the kiss came from, it is well known that the kiss has been with us for a long time.

In the sixth century in France, dancing was one way to display affection, but every dance was ended in a kiss.

Apparently, Russia was the first to incorporate the kiss into the marriage ceremony, where a promise was sealed with a kiss.

The Romans kissed to greet each other. On Roman emperor showed a persons importance, by what part of his body they were allowed to kiss, from the cheek to the foot.

In 16th century England, the clove-studded apple originated. An apple was prepared by piercing it with as many cloves as the fruit could hold and then a maid then carried the apple through the fair till she spied a lad she thought worth kissing. She would offer him the apple, and once he'd selected and chewed one of the cloves, they would share a kiss. After that, the apple passed into the man's possession, and he would venture off in search of another lass to continue the game with.

At one stage it was even thought that people found kissing pleasurable because when the two lips met during kissing, an electric current was generated.

Now days, kisses range from small pecks on the cheeks as a greeting, to an the use of the lips and tongue as a sign of passion. Melon KISS

This is one of the fastest and easiest dessert recipes around which will still make you look like a culinary genius. Just 5 minutes of prep time!

The Basic Recipe:
1. Cut a melon in half
2. Scoop out the seeds
3. Fill the melon “bowl” with a white dessert wine
4. Serve with a spoon

What sweet wine should you use? I would recommend an Austrian Beerenauslese or Eiswein (Ice Wine). You want to use something of quality, but there’s no need to spend a fortune on the dessert wine.

Here are a few more tips to make this recipe even better, or a bit fancier:

-Use a very ripe cantaloupe as the melon

-Chill the melon in the refrigerator for a few hours or more before making the dessert & serving

-Use a melon baller, and then put the perfectly shaped melon balls back into the cantaloupe shell and pour the dessert wine over.

-For smaller portions: cut the melon halves down into smaller “bowls”. Cut the extra melon into small pieces and place those into the bowl. This method also uses less dessert wine per serving.

-Use a melon-baller, and then put the melon balls into a fancy dish and serve that way.

-Another melon-baller idea: freeze the melon balls and then put them in either the rustic melon bowl or other serving dish.

-Serve your Melon KISS with some good vanilla ice cream on the side.

You can find many Austrian dessert wines by doing a simple search on Google, but here are some dessert wines that are great values that I would particularly recommend for this recipe:

Gsellmann & Gsellmann Beerenauslese 2001. It comes in a 500ml bottle, which is a bit more than the usual half-bottle size, so it will go further.

Gsellmann & Gsellmann Eiswein 2001. The Scheurebe grape used to make this Icewine might just be the perfect partner for the melon flavors.

Heiss Blaufränkisch Eiswein 2002. This is an Icewine made from the red Blaufränkisch grape. It’s a bit more expensive than the other wines mentioned, but a really interesting choice.

I don't really know what the origin of kissing is. Perhaps it has been around as long as humans themselves, but few would argue that kissing is a very important part of how we connect with those we love, especially that special someone.
